Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks?
So my oldest dog Katy is learning a new trick. She is finally learning to roll over! Well she has part of it down. She rolls on her side but I have to push her all the way over. Now Jake on the other hand grumbles and moans every time we've( my family and I) tried to teach him to roll over so I;m thinking that is not going to happen for him. But Katy has potential. So I'll keep you updated on her progress. She's so smart its scary sometimes.

Angel

Across the night sky comes a wonderful sight.
Not a flock of birds,
Going south for the winter
Evening warms and the plane lands.
Letting my sister come back home to us.

Katy

So it happens to be Friday and its my dog day!! Last week I introduced you to my dog Jake. This week you are going to learn a little bit about my dog Katy. She is the oldest and darkest of the bunch. She is about nine years old, compared to Jake who is five, and is a dark chocolate color. We got her as our first family pet. She was actually a surprise to me also. I came home from school one day and there she was sitting on a chair in our living room, wet from the bath she just had. she wasn't as young as Jake was when we got her so we didn't really have much of a puppy stage with her. We got her at about six months old. Originally we thought she was a chocolate lab puppy so we bought her a really big food bowl and watering dish. But as the time past and she didn't grow too much taller we figured out that she was a terrier mix. But watching her you can really see the terrier traits she does have. one being she loves the chase. Anytime a small animal( or a large one, whatever she happens to spot) comes through our back yard she goes nuts barking, and fogs up our back door. She is definitely our watch dog. So what does she look like? Well she is small, only about thirty pounds and comes to my knee( I'm short) which puts her at about twenty inches tall. Not our smallest dog but certainly our smartest. She learns new things every day and always finds ways of getting out of trouble, like laying at your feet or sprinting to you when you have to use the stern voice on her. She may be naughty but she is so darn cute with her big brown eyes it is really hard to get mad at her. Now over the years I have grown a bit of an immunity to her charms but no one else has so I guess its for her own good. She is the only dog we paid for but I can truthfully say she was worth every penny.

Acrostic
Ok these soud like they could be a lot of fun! An acrostic poem is a poem where the first letter in each line in order makes a word or phrase.
EX: -Sam has
-A bike that
-Might be just like mine.
The first letter in each of the sentences spelled out the name Sam. Normally the word or phrase is relavent to teh poem but doesn't have to be.
I hope you try writting these! They don't have to rhyme or anything :) get creative!!

Golden

A good man is golden.
He is worth any price.
A good woman will refine his gold.
With a rock that sparkels like ice.
They will be beautiful together
and will make a ring.
It will be their life and their love.
It will be their everything.
They will make a promise '
to wear every day.
They will stay side by side
Never to doubt or sway.
This gold is for everyone
and anyone to own.
It is two becoming one,
Never made alone.
He is worth any price.

You are my balloon.
You lift me higher then a kite can fly.
You are my wings.
You never fail to satisfy,
My need for adventure or my desire to explore.
And with this said I can ask no more,
Of your arms like a safety net or hands of gold
Which are something special and mine to hold.
Your eyes are blue waters
when life brings a drought
Your heart in a comfort when I doubt.
Say no more but say no less.
I have something to confess.
I am nothing with out all these things.
So thank you for everything especially your wings.

Jake

So the dog thing. You don't know much about my dogs as of now which makes m think I should start the next three Fridays with intros about them. Today is all about Jake. He is the biggest of the three weighing in at a whooping 85 pounds. He is pure bred but no one has seemed to have heard of his breed of dogs. He is a Mountain Cur which is bred to hunt bears but you wouldn't know it to look at him. He might not be very small but his heart is very well matched with his size. He might not be the bravest one of the bunch( that would be Katy. You'll meet her next week)but he really does have a heart as gold as his fur. That's not to say he doesn't have his flaws though. He is loving to the point of bubble invasion. If he wants you to look at him or pet him he makes sure there is no possible way you could not see him. He will make sure he's heard and that you don't ignore him. Its cute when you're just relaxing and not very busy but its not so cute if you're really tired or trying to get homework done. But I do love my dog. He was originally bought for me when i was about nine. We had gotten our first dog about three years before and i wanted another puppy so I begged for weeks and weeks. Finally my parents did something they rarely ever do, they gave in!! so about two weeks later my dad came home with a happy healthy bouncy ix week old puppy with huge feet and floppy ears(which now don't flop so much). I was so happy that we finally got another puppy! And he was a good pick. Hes a solid part of my family and a protector of the house we live in.I would trade him for anything.
