Allegory

An allegory is a poem that uses a metaphor to talk about something. Allegories use symbolism to talk about something else. They are really neat because someone could interpret them anyway they wanted and each poem could mean something different to each person who reads it.

  1. I remember learning about allegories last year in English. I think most have potential of being pretty fascinating, but others can bore me because I don't understand them.

  2. That's what I like about them. I enjoy a challenge and I also like the way it has more then one meaning. But if you dont understand it then just take it for face value and enjoy the poem itself :)Maybe if you wrote one it would become easier to understand symbolism.
